FAQs
Patient questions
Which practices are behind Omniya Concierge?
Omniya Clinic in Knightsbridge and Basuto Medical Centre in Fulham. Omniya Concierge is the visiting service that the two practices run together. Read about Omniya Concierge.
Where do you visit?
Homes and hotels across Zone 1, central London.
When can a doctor visit?
That depends on which appointments are available when you contact us, so the team is the place to ask. A clinician looks at your enquiry before anything is booked, and you are given the appointment time once the visit is arranged.
Do I need to be registered with you, or with a GP in the UK?
Neither. A one-off visit needs no registration with us and you pay for it as you go, and visitors from overseas are welcome on the same basis. A private consultation is not a substitute for being registered with a GP where you live.
Is there a membership?
Not for Omniya Concierge, which is pay as you go, with no subscription to join. Basuto Medical Centre, one of the two practices behind the service, does run a membership for care at its own Fulham clinic, and the practice’s terms exclude home visits and consultations outside the clinic, so it does not cover a visit from us. The starting price and the link to its current plans are on our clinic appointments page.
Can I be seen at a clinic instead of at home?
Yes. The team arranges clinic appointments at either practice, Omniya Clinic in Knightsbridge or Basuto Medical Centre in Fulham, and you can also book the Fulham clinic with the practice directly. The Fulham practice publishes its consultation fee, and the Knightsbridge fee is quoted when you book. Both addresses are on our clinic appointments page.
What should I have ready when I call?
Have your current medicines to hand, with the packaging or a photograph of it. The doctor will also want to know about any allergies and anything in your medical history that bears on the problem. Recent letters or test results are useful if you have them.
Can someone else arrange a visit for me?
Yes, as long as you have agreed to it. A hotel desk, an assistant or a family member can make the arrangements. The consultation stays between you and the doctor. A hotel is given what it needs to get the doctor to you, and nothing about your care unless you ask us to share it.
What does a visit cost?
£450 on a weekday between 08:00 and 20:00, or £550 in the evening and at weekends. Both cover up to an hour with the doctor. Medication, laboratory fees and infusions are not included and are quoted separately. The full list is at all fees.
Is a prescription included in the fee?
If the doctor issues one during a home or hotel visit, writing it is covered by the visit fee. What you pay for separately is the medication and its delivery, and you are quoted for both before you commit to anything. If we have not seen you and a remote assessment is suitable, a telephone or video consultation is £200. There is more detail in private prescriptions.
Can I claim through my insurance?
You pay at the time of care and claim afterwards. We give you an itemised invoice and a receipt to submit, and whether you are reimbursed is a matter for your policy, so it is worth checking with your insurer before the visit.
Can you prescribe medication I was prescribed overseas?
Sometimes. A prescription written outside the UK is sometimes recognised here, subject to checks by the dispensing pharmacist, and certain categories of medicine carry extra restrictions on top of that. Where your own prescription cannot be used, a UK assessment comes first. The outcome might be that your treatment continues, that an equivalent available in the UK is offered instead, or that neither turns out to be appropriate, so continuation cannot be guaranteed before the consultation.
Can I arrange follow-up?
Yes. Follow-up can be at a clinic or by video, and which of those works depends on availability and where you are at the time. The team will tell you which applies when you book.
What if my condition gets worse while I am waiting?
If it is life-threatening, call 999 rather than waiting for us. The NHS guidance on when to call 999 explains what counts, and NHS 111 can check your symptoms if you are unsure which service you need. If it is not an emergency but something has changed, call the team, and the doctor can reassess how urgent your appointment is.
What if I need to cancel?
Tell the team as soon as your plans change. The detail is in our cancellation terms.
Is this an emergency service?
No. In a medical emergency, call 999.
